When you register for an API key, we collect your email address to provide service authentication and important notifications.
We store the markdown content you share through our service, along with metadata such as creation dates, expiry times, and file paths.

Your markdown content is stored in encrypted files on our secure servers. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction.
API keys are stored using secure hashing algorithms. We never store your API key in plain text.
Shared content is retained based on the expiry time you set (1 day, 1 week, 1 month, or permanent). Expired shares are automatically deleted from our servers. Account information is retained as long as your account remains active.
ShareMD integrates with AI assistants via the Model Context Protocol (MCP). We do not share your personal information with third parties except as necessary to provide our service or as required by law.
